SEND ME NO FLOWERS – a comedy

Sunday matinees are February 04, February 11, and February 18
When: Monday October 2 and Wednesday October 4 at 6:30pm
Where: Metro Theatre, 1370 SW Marine Drive, Vancouver
Characters Needed: 6: 1 – female identifying; 3 – male identifying; 2 – any gender
Judy Kimball: woman, 40s-50s, a devoted and loving wife to George, she goes on an emotional rollercoaster trying to figure out what is happening with George, but always stays true to him
George Kimball: man, 40s-50s, a devoted and loving husband to Judy, a hypochondriac, his “health issues” are central to all of the problems within the play, significant amount of dialogue to memorize, strong comedic timing essential
Bert Power: man, 40s-50s, Judy’s college boyfriend and a true gentleman, he still has feelings for Judy, which causes George to be jealous
Dr Ralph Morrissey: any gender, any age (30s-70s), George and Judy’s friend as well as George’s doctor, he understands and is very patient with George’s hypochondria
Arnold Nash: man, 40s-50s, George and Judy’s neighbour and George’s best friend, to deal with the news of George’s death he spends the majority of the play drunk, strong comedic timing
Mr. Akins: any gender, any age (18-88), a funeral salesperson who loves people but doesn’t quite understand them, strong comedic timing

Rehearsal period: Saturday mornings October 28 – December 16, then Tuesday/Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons starting January 2 through until opening night
Notes: This is a NON-EQUITY production. All roles at Metro Theatre, are Volunteer positions. Auditions will be by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Upon receipt of your audition submission, the Director will contact you to schedule an appointment time and send you the appropriate ‘Sides’. ‘Sides’ can be printed at home to bring with you to audition
